Work With Us
We are always looking out for switched on young people wanting consistent, well paid work for two or more months at a time. We have often taken on and trained backpackers and gap year students who are willing to learn new things, have good communication skills. Work involves car servicing, simple admin and customer engagement. We match commitment and an openness to learning on the job with stable and fair remuneration, board if required, lunch every day and an enjoyable and respectful workplace. The experience is one that allows for the development of lifelong skills that can be taken beyond the just mechanics workshop.
Prior experience is not required, we are just looking for quick, smart individuals wanting to try something new!
We take people on throughout the year so if you think you would be a good fit for the job, please send us an email with some background information and your availability in the near future so we can get to know you and see if we can make it happen.
Former short term employees of CWC
Venus, 2 months, 2019
Hello, my name is Venus and I'm an 18 year old backpacker from Germany. I got the job at CWC through Steffi who worked here prior. I knew her before and she seemed to really like her job and CWC also seemed like an interesting work place, so I thought; let's give it a shot! I did not have any prior experience as a mechanic before coming to CWC and admittedly, my general knowledge of cars was very limited. I had nothing to worry about though, as I was taught everything that I needed to know and there was always someone who was happy to answer my questions.
At first it seems like a lot to learn, but after a while you develop a routine. You do services on cars every day. Here you basically check if the car is fully functional, i.e. if all the lights are working, if all the fluids are o.k. and topped up, change different filters, etc. Later I also had to do more difficult things like changing tyres and replacing a radiator. I really enjoyed my time at CWC, it's unlike anything I've ever done before. So if you are open to learn new things and challenge yourself, you should definitely give it a try and be surprised at the things you can do!
